Asked about whether Liverpool midfielder and Argentinian international Javier Mascherano (25) was a part of his plans for the upcoming season, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez replied in an interview after Liverpool's loss to Espanyol last night simply,
"Yes."
Catalan paper Sport reports that Barcelona would still have been interested in Mascherano after manager Pep Guardiola allegedly called Rafael Benitez from the United States on Thursday to inquire again about the player. However Benitez again set the price of Mascherano at 50 million euro, an amount would have considered impossible by Barcelona.
