Hleb regrets Barcelona move

Barcelona attacker and Belarusian international Alexander Hleb (28) is quoted by British tabloid The Daily Mail as saying that he regrets having left Arsenal to join Barcelona:

"When you mostly sit on the bench, winning titles brings very little joy, while getting to the last eight of the Champions League with Arsenal was unforgettable.

I regret my move from London, but unfortunately nothing can be done about it now.
For me, Wenger was like a father. I consider him one of the best managers in the world. For such a boss one wants to die on the pitch. Arsene managed to create a smashing team with a wonderful atmosphere inside of it. I have no doubts that if Arsenal had the same budget as Barcelona, the Gunners would be among the three best clubs on the planet.'

its not a budget thing ....arsenal should look how to make their own players and not steal 16-17y old players from other big clubs.

i dont like what hleb is doing,he is causing so much commotion and the league hasnt even started yet,it is wise he should leave, heck jeffren can do his job....

His comments are valid and deserve no criticism. Everyone is allowed to express regret even if he or she failed to live up to expectations. Some will look at what he said and conclude that he was criticizing Barcelona. Others, will look at it and see a critical analysis of his situation. It's our choice which way we decide to look at situations like these.

I was against Hleb's transfer from the beginning but I cannot help to feel for this lad.

Can't blame him. He was bought but he didn't get chances, so it can't be only his fault. The staff probably judged him wrong and he didn't appear the player they thought he could be.

And this is by a British tabloid, so be careful about that too.

He only has himself to blame for all of this. I don't want to listen to him complain about Pep not giving him playing time, coz everytime he came on he looked like he was stumbling over the ball, and couldn't even get the simplest of passes right. He should prove his worth instead of complaining. But let him leave, he clearly isn't happy in Barca, and he isn't good enough.

whatever happened to "no comment". some players should learn to talk less and perform more on the pitch. cos for one, they look silly retracting their statements later.

Guardiola expects to go into the season with 16 or 17 players and is hoping to sign an extra midfielder with Yaya Toure and Seydou Keita expected to be away at the African Cup of Nations in January.

"I want him to be good, cheap and of good value," Guardiola said of any potential addition.

See what I was saying? We dont need a superstar signing. Poulsen would be fine if its just for him to sit on the bench and be a backup until january rolls around.

But then January will come around and breaking in a new player during the crunch time could prove costly. Whoever comes in has to rotate and get regular time from the beginning, so he has to have top qualities first. Then cheap...then...

Empty vessels make the most noise. Hleb stop talking, and if you HAVE to talk, talk in Spanish and do your team some good by playing good football.

You regret this move? I think it is Barca who is regretting it more.

Hleb shouldnt say things like that...but who the hell decided to pay 15 millions for him for finally leaving him on the bench...i understand that he feels upset...we did the same with guddy with caceres..a such quality player either you give him some playing time or you dont recruit him at all

Madrid is about to sell Huntelaar to Stuttgart for 23m euros.

I should keep the new in which he criticised Wenger and Arsenal and talked as if he escaped from hell several months ago. Now he call Wenger a "father". Pathetic.

If his statement is true, no doubt Pep will act seriously. just wait

what an idiot. he ruined his chances of staying in treble winning team, which even sitting on bench should be a pleasure.he has to accept if he's not good enough to play there are better players in his position and we needed him for backup to go a long way to success but he's not a necessaity I like his style of play but he really hasn't done as good as in arsenal and now he's talking crap about arsen wenger and arsenal while he still has a contract in barca!!! what a idiot kick him out.
