Barcelona keeping an eye on Valencia duo

Asked by journalists if David Silva and David Villa will stay with the club like he declared last week (read more here), Valencia president Agustín Morera seemed to withdraw his strong statement:

"We don't put a label on our players. Both are key players for us but it's not me who has to say who and with which players the team should play. If an important offers comes in, we'll look at it. Our technical department will take the decisions, although in the end the board has the last word. We'll do what's best for he club."

Catalans sport paper Sport claims that Barcelona has already made a first offer of 15 million euro° for Valencia left winger and Spanish international David Silva (22) (read more here) and would be considering to launch a 20 million euro° bid for Valencia forward and Spanish international David Villa (26), who comes form a culé family.

Valencia sports director Juan Sánchez nevertheless said in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC 1 that Valencia did not receive any formal offer: "There are a lot of rumours this time of the year, but I can assure you that at this moment we didn't yet receive an official offer from Barcelona for Silva or for Villa. As things are now, we count on both of them for next season, but of course we cannot predict the future."

Asked about his future, Silva said at a press conference that he's now focusing on the Euro in Austria and Switzerland: "If I can leave or not, you should ask that to Valencia. Like David Villa said before, I'm fully concentrating on the national team right now. We'll look at those other things once the European championship ends."

Don't know who is going to replace Giovani. Maybe soem player from Barça b will be promoted. Hleb could als be a back-up for Messi on the right wing.

And I guess Ronaldinho will be out almost for sure.

I thought Barcelona already had a 20mil Euro offer for Silva rejected? But here it says that their initial offer was only 15mil? I think that's a low ball offer for sure. But I wouldn't go past 25mil for Silva. As far as Villa goes I'd rather give him the money that Barcelona is supposedly offering Juventus for Trezequet. Not only is Villa a younger player but also being a veteran of La Liga he knows Barcelona's style of play and would adapt to it faster than Trezequet would in my opinion. Of course I would rather keep Eto'o just the same. But Barca's going to have to recoup some of the money they've spent on transfers so far so I don't see him staying unfortunately. Perhaps if Barcelona made a package bid for both Silva and Villa they may be able to get them for a slightly lower price than if they pursued them individually?
