Although the new shirt numbers haven't yet been officially announced and no names appeared on the shirts so far this pre-season, yesterday's friendly game against LA Galaxy could have given some indications on which shirt numbers the new players will wear this season.
Brazilian left back defender Maxwell put on the shirt with number 19, which was free next year, and Brazilian central defender Henrique the shirt with number 23, which was also free last year. It is expected that Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic will get the number 9 that last season belonged to Samuel Eto'o.
Two players could change their numbers: Alves played with number 2 (Cáceres) last night, and Busquets with number 16 (Sylvinho). Barcelona Atlètic players Muniesa, Fontàs, Jonathan and Jeffren respectively wore the numbers 21 (Hleb), 12 (free), 20 (Alves) and 17 (free).

Jeffren should play with 17 or 7 if gud leaves
please dont change number of dani alves. i already have two messi shirt with num. 19 (now messi is 10), and alves shirt with number 20.
Iniesta or Xavi should be number seven.
iniesta is already 8, which is the main number of a playmaker whereas xavi is 6 which is not that special a no. so if guddy leaves xavi should take no. 7 and jonathan or busquests should take the no. 6...
iniesta already has the most popular midfield number(8). xavi should stay as 6 just because i have been seeing him in it for way to long for him to change now. 7 should go to yaya or busquets and we should give the fans the number 16 shirt.
Iniesta should get the 7, because he is the motor of the team.
For me, following numbers are clear
Valdes - 1
Iniesta - 7
Ibrahimovic - 9
Messi - 10
Henry - 11
Xavi - 8

And I don't think we have anyone in our team that is a genuine "7", except for Messi but as you all know he already has another mythical number.
I also don't like that Dani looks to be wearing 2 instead of 20.

The no. 7 is for a right winger/midfielder...and maybe for an striker....not an attacking/controlling midfielder. Xavi plays with 6 for a number of years, so he stays with 6. So does Iniesta. No. 7 should go to Pedro or Jeffren.
Also Henry stays with 14, its his favourite number.
BTW: Does anyone know where Assulin was? I thought he was at the tour too?
Nr7 should be reserved to Keirrison. If Guddy leaves, or else he takes it next season.
