Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Shakhtar Donetsk has agreed to hold a meeting to discuss the situation of Shakhtar defender and Ukrainian international Dmytro Chygrynskiy (22).
Although Shakhtar still isn't willing to let the centre-back go, delegations of both clubs would meet in Monaco, where Barcelona will compete for the European Super Cup on Friday, to talk about Chygrynskiy.
It is believed that there could be more telephone contacts in the coming hours (read more here) and it's not excluded - although unlikely - that Barcelona president Joan Laporta could travel to Ukraine on Tuesday.

good
Bad, i prefer Muniesa & Fontas over him....this is going to be another Caceres...
We are holding our talended youth players if we sign him
The point of getting a central defender is this:
* Gives us 4 good central defenders for the 2 positions.
* Makes Puyol available as backup for Alves when needed.
* Makes it possible for Marquez and Pique to play DM when needed, and moving Yaya to the CM position when needed where we can use Yaya's offensive qualities (shooting, dribbling, passing, strength in the box).
* A central defender will improve our threat in the air on corners and free kicks (we get 15 corners every game but we never score on them!) and makes us better at defending set pieces. Pep has said that he wants the new player to be good in the air, as we have a big weakness there.
* With the new central defender giving Pique and Marquez the option of playing in the DM position, we suddenly have and abundance of talent at the 2 CM positions in front of the 1 DM:
CMs: Xavi, Keita, Thiago, Yaya, Iniesta, JDS.
6 good players for 2 positions. And they have different characteristics. This means Iniesta can very often play on the wings. If we get a central defender, it means a new midfielder is not needed at all.
If we pay more than 20 mil than it is madness....
Chyggy reminds of Marquez with his very accurate long-distant passes, but only better in aerial defending and also a constant threat during set-pieces
I agree, our play in the air is no so good, we have many chances for scoring during a game, and we don't scoring so often. Also, our the big problems in defence, comming from the air.
With Chirginsky an Ibra, that would be better i think
My problem with this guy is he´s to slow, we need atleast one fast CB. Everytime i have seen this guy he hasnt impressed me at all, if we do get him I hope he proves me wrong
Don't you think Pique and Marquez played well together? None of those two are fast, so I don't think it is a major problem. Technique and passing, being good in the air, and ability to read the game and position themselves correctly are more important for a Barcelona defender I think.
But the price of Chygrynskiy is very high I think. 25m is just ridiculous.
If this mean puyol will leave then we shouldn't even consider buying him
Of course Puyol won't leave. If there are any basis in that at all, it is just agent talk in contract negotiations.
i think he'll come for less than 20 M
i mean the board isnt stupid
paying 25 m for a player who wont play in CL
its MADNESS !!
Did he played a CHL game with Shakhtar ? If yes he is not going to be able to play in CHL for Barcelona then ....
I do think Pique and Marquez played well together but they also had problems with fast attackers, especially when we were pressing the opponent and they were left alone with some quick attackers.Thats why I like atleast one fast CB like Puyol but he aint getting younger and is losing some of his speed.
Sorry for the poor english hope you understand it anyway
