Quote of the day: Raiola

Zlatan is the most expensive transfer of this summer. If Real Madrid wouldn't have signed Cristiano Ronaldo they would have been forced to pay a penalty of 30 millions, so they actually paid 64. For Kaká, Florentino Pérez has paid 66 millions. While Ibra costed 70 millions: 45 cash, Eto'o valued at 20 and another 5 because of the non-arrival of Hleb.

Mino Raiola,
agent of Barcelona player Zlatan Ibrahimovic

dont agree, even if they had to pay the 30mil if they didnt get him its not 30mil less on the transfer now..... they still gave 94mil.those 30mil are not air.

on the downside we gave 50mil +eto for zlatan....hope he plays good.

Why does Zlatan's agent talk so much???

50m? I thought it was 46. Surely 70% of Hleb's wage was not 5m? So the agent is saying that Hleb earns 7.5m euros at Barcelona, which I don't believe.

Sorry yo use this story, but I've searched for the email adress, with no luck.
A 17 year old swede should be going on trail.

Agreed... you can't throw that 30mil out the door just because they didn't have to pay the penalty.

…and @ anonymous… the 5m had nothing to do with Hleb’s salary… it was a penalty for not being able to finalize his loan deal which was supposed to be included in the Ibra deal.

Raiola is an idiot...

I remember reading a story about his life. He was a cook in an italian restaurant in Amsterdam. Thats where Ajax players used to eat and so he got to know players....but Zlatan was his jackpot.

2 teams had offered MORE money than Turin but Raiola had an agreement and forced all the parties to agree to that. Turin paid him 5 mio. for that.

Then he wanted Zlatan to go to Inter (his favorite team as a child) and forced Inter to give him that huge contract.

You know what SUCKS about him? he will cry for a pay rise if Zlatan does well here. He will go to public and demand contract renewals every off-seaoson if Barca and Zlatan are successful. He will be a handful and an idiot to deal with.

believe me.

So where is the 70% of Hleb's wages gone, anon? This agent says 45m plus 5m which you call a penalty. Are you saying that it was originally 45m+70% of Hlebs wages+Eto'o or was it 42m+70% of Hlebs wages+Eto'o?

why do we suck so bad at doing these transfers. Everyone tries to suck us dry and they usually do. I don't object to most of the transfers just the way they have been structured. Only reason I don't care is because the maxwell deal was pretty cheap, but really Barca needs to upgrade the negotiators because this is ridiculous.

Perhaps Pep will get a "feeling" with Zlatan and his agent then, and he leaves on free transfer in a year or two. Never know.

that guy is stupid

I hope zlatan and toure change their agents soon. Too big a mouth and rediculous.

we get penalized only if the hleb loan is a done deal but it wasnt. way i understand it the loan was never part of the ibra deal, otherwise we wouldnt have gone ahead with the stuttgart deal just to get slapped a 5 mil penalty. thats stupid. raniola is nuts to even talk like that.

The problem is that Hleb didn't find an agrement with Inter.

Barcelona apprently couldn't wait for the Hleb-Inter deal so they said: "You'll get him on loan and if it doesn't go through, we'll pay you a penalty."
