Speaking to Italian television channel Sky Sport after the European Super Cup game against Shakhtar Donetsk yesterday, Barcelona player Zlatan Ibrahimovic commented on the match:
"When you're not in shape, there are other players to make the difference in a team like Barça. I'm still not at my best, I'm still recovering but soon I will be one hundred per cent ready.
I have to adapt to the style of Barça. It's another way of playing, another philosophy. The team plays more attacking and puts pressure higher on the pitch. They are little things that can make the difference.
Kissing the Barça logo? That was just the photographers asking me to do it. I am happy to play at Barça now but Inter will always be in my heart. I will be happy to return to Milan for the Champions League and I hope we will see a great game. At Inter, everybody treated me very well. From the team-mates to Moratti, Branca, the press... Mourinho? Yes, he too. I hope we win the Milan derby this weekend."

He has time for most of us. He didn't have a normal pre-season, first starting with Inter, then the injury. Adapting to a very specific way of playing where you have a specific task (so less freedom) not easy.
On the other hand: the more you cost, the less time you have. And if Eto'o scores against Milan this weekend, he'll even have less time... ;)

You must be faster and better than Zlatan to adapt to the Barca way of playing.
Don't be so harsh on him, not every player is a fan of their own club. He likes Inter but likes to play in Barca? I don't have a problem with that. I still thought we should not have bought him with that deal, we would still have a top class striker and 46mil more to spend. Same goes to Keirrison, should not have bought him for that price. This should have happened at the start of the season.

The difference with Henry was he didn't come out and say he was going to be 100%. He said he had back problems, divorce issues and was missing his daughter. Once he got over all that (took a year) he finally became the Henry we know.
Ibra on the other hand is saying he is nearing his best, and as displayed last night, we might as well have put Guddy in that position and he would have done a better job.

I feared that something like this could happen, and you cant take it lighly by keeping saying that he will be fine soon. If Zlatan turns out to be a monumental flop, its more than likely that Barca wont win La Liga or CL this season, thats a brutal truth. Your leading CFs form is very crucial for whole teams success, in addition Henry may not be able to keep his fine form for long anymore. Zlatan must score at least 20 goals this season. Zlatan may be too slow, inactive and static for Barca´s 4-3-3, he cant make perfect runs and beat the offside trap like Eto'o did. Zlatan is not as fast or smooth as Eto'o but he must start offering the team things that Eto'o was never able to do; aerial power, playing as a target man back towards the goal, wrestling inside the box with four defenders, thunderous long range shots etc

I think the big poblem with Zlatan will come in la liga. this liga is technical fast. And to score you need an technical fast striker like eto villa or aguero or raul(on his best), maybe benzema...and not Ibra....And yesterday was a big game...and he is still a big game flop. Fact he destroy the game and the chances.

i laughed at the comment give him some time henry didnt perform well till last year. ibra doesnt have that much time,if he doesnt settle fast this will hurt the team cause he is the main firepower.
last night we were more of a threat with bojan and pedro in than with ibra and henry,that says something about both players.henry is slowly droping form ,he is 1 year older,you cant expect him to keep last years play.and ibra is well ...slow,i know he is the main guy i wanted if eto left,but i though he was faster....not only on speed but in mind too(i mean how fast he gives the ball).he kinda slows us down.
dunno i have trust in pep and surely he will work it out for the best.although i really hope iniesta comes back fast,i think when we play with iniesta/xavi there will be less pressure for ibra and more balls for him.eto worked really hard for this team,ibra is trying but i think we need to play with 2 CAM this year.

2 previous games of 45 minutes and playing straight in the Final Uefa Super Cup with a team who play with 11 in Defense (Chelsea style) what do u expect from IBRA , what did ETO , MESSI do against Chelsea in London , how close to the goal they went to attack Cheh , they pressure all the time but with no dangerous situation , because they were 11 defense , so do IBRA it's his 3 match with 2 previous 45 minutes , and playing with a defensive team , he can't do nothing .
I think this time PEP made a mistake , he shouldn't let Ibra as a starter , bring in Bojan and replace him with Ibra at 60' and there u go .
Give him a time , and i am sure that after a month we will start talking about the goals he score , wow did u see that hattrick or that move from him that pass ect ... I believe in him because he is world Class striker and he can do it ...

Guys...i dont know what have u except from Ibra. He came to Barca few weeks ago and u really cant adapt to Barca style in this short time. Its new team for him and lets hope that he well improve but it will take time. I agre with him totally.

Few things to yesterdays game. First we all heard what kind of weather was there and we all saw conditions of the field (horrible). We tried to play our style but they doubled up in defence. Second lets look on some players like Xavi, Alves or Henry. They also didnt play very well and nobody did forbear it here. Of course its Xavi, Alves and Henry how could u but there is this new guy Ibra....lets write something rude about his type of play. Not fair. No respect to the newcomer. Im also not happy that Eto left but he did. We have to move on a try to keep our type of game even with Ibra in the team.
At the end i would like to say to some of u that if u r Barca fan than u have to keep the faith in hole team in couching staff. Couse they need us they need our suport.
We are more than team.

Those doubting Ibra this soon are premature to say the least. Give the lad some time. Granted he needs to improve, who doesnt? If you guys are going to point fingers at him after the Shakhtar game, look at Henry and Xavi, they too had a bad game. Matter of fact, I dont think I could remember Xavi so ineffective in his entire career, since I followed Barca. Not one game, where he was nowhere to be seen, no killer passes, nada. I love Xavi, and same goes with Ibra, he needs time to adapt and gel with the team. If your're a Barca fan, you'd support Ibra at least until the end of the season. It's too soon to be pointing fingers!
