Poor Luis Filipe, he must be devastated. Maybe he'll never get such a chance again...

For that price I think it's a good transfer, good alternative for Abidal.

They've waited for this blog to be back up to start buying... ;)

So Maxwell is Barca's first signing. I am a bit surprised. I hope he is still good.

Finaly a transfer. And a good one too. Feel bad for Filipe though... but Maxwell is better and only costs half of what we wanted to pay for Filipe.

wellarnd 5 Mill for him neat considerin hes 28.. say 3-4 yrs max he wud play...but i wud hav certainly prefered Luis Filipe for max 10 Mill whos 23.. but non the less since he s a backup its a descent signin

I think he's a good support for Abidal.

If Maxwell gets to play more regularly than he did at Inter lately, he can still improve - despite his age. And considering the amount of matches we might play next season, he will get his playing time.

Carrer de Corsega said...

What I like about his is that he is a utility player. He has played as LM and also wide forward like the role of Henry. Nonetheless, he will provide great cover for the left side of the pitch. I would have loved to have Zhirkov for the same reason, but Maxwell seems to be the best option left considering his quality and price.

great transfer that proves that barca doesnt go madrid style in transfers,if the president doesnt sell at the price we give and says buyout clause then the deal is off and we can find alternatives.

maybe this transfer will help the villa deal too.llorente will see that we dont joke about forlan and will give in our bid(hopefully) or we end up with forlan ............

Carrer de Corsega said...

Oh and I've seen him play Defensive Midfielder too. He won't be dispossessed easily.

maxwell has an italian passport na ..??? or he is counted as non european player..?????

Harshawardhan said...

he has played in europe for 7 years now.. so i think he must be having a EU passport..
anyways good to see the words OFFICIAL on the blog.. and peps blog was one of the first sites to report!
maybe felipe will join us in the future but i do feel bad for him. he was desperate to join us..

Great job. Who the hell does Deportivo de Coruna think they are trying to play hardball with Barcelona. Epic Fail!!

etoto said...

Great news!! This is totally awesome :D Yeah, I think Felipe will be really pissed at his club. He might actually leave anyway because of his relationship with his club now...

Deportivo has made a new offer.

0marX said...

Aww! I really wanted Felip!
Stupid greedy Deportivo. Now they have an unhappy player in the squad and killed a dream move to Barcelona.

Felipe*

felipe would have been nice. He is young, too. Too bad we offered a bench role fee and they demanded a starter fee.

also, the link is now for the english version

NouBarca said...

Did "insideknowledge" mention him?

I think he said Villa, cesc and Bastos?

Great buy. Maxwell is an experienced guy. Maybe felipe would come in a year or two.

barca4life said...

Screw greedy Depor. Great move by the board brilliant price and overall good move all around. Allows us to have a more attacking option on the left flank when we give dani a rest as well as possibly providing us with a backup left winger. Filipe serve out your contract and come to us. We will be waiting.

Estic molt content destic aqi!-Said Dani Alves wen he arriwed to Barca and it was a great signing. Eweryone can see the resoults. Hopefully Maxwell is going to be a good back up for Abidal. AS a 1st option on the post is just not good enought. He was not the first option eveni in inter...I dont realy agree with this current buying politics, a good palyer has a high price example Dani Alves 32mill.

This "inside" guy wasn't the same one as was lurking here a few weeks ago.

And also, Bastos is very, very close to being an Olympique Lyonnaise player.

So I suppose you can pretty much call his predictions bogus.

barca4life said...

4 mill is a great deal. Why he is so cheap is that he only has 1 year left on his contract and he wants to get a guarantee of regular football. With inter discovering David Santon he wasnt sure how much time he was going to get so he wanted out.

barca4life said...

Anybody that followed insideknowledge knew he was making things up. He said just what we knew from before and then he added a few made up predictions to make it seem like he had further knowledge. Nothing he said that was true was new to me and the things he made up were proven false almost immdediately.

For example he said Laporta and Rossel had an accord and when i asked some people in barcelona they said they had not heard anything like that and something like that would be big news. The very next day on Barcelona's official website Laporta announced that he would be backing somebody from the current board for the election.

pep and guys, thank you because you open this blog again.

this transfer is the best transfer that could happened wright now. i cant bealive that inter let maxwell for only 4,5M euros.

I Didnt Know We Wer After Him :P

I'm Inter fan and I just want to say how lucky you should be to have this player. You wouldn't get him so cheap if there wasn't Jose Mourinho.

Anonymous said...

Mourinho still loves FCB.

Marc4barca said...

inter pawns barcelona. inter 5-0 barcelona cl final

Anonymous said...

So why don't guys just accept the deal of Eto'o + 15 mill is greater than (or) equal to Ibracadabra :P

Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça

Humankind said...

Marc4barca,

what's up with your name if you think that Inter is so much superior to Barcelona? Perhaps it should be Marc4inter, ever thought about that?
If what you say is true and it is possible that "inter pawns barcelona", which I highly doubt it is, then why did your team lose 2-0 to ManU and our team won against them comfortably by 2-0?

Anonymous said...

BarcaFan you missed to add we scored 2 goals in 1 match while they couldn't manage even 1 in 2 motches :P

I think that was someone who was just using Marc4barca name.

i dont like maxwell but he 's good i have a good feeling about him but i wish gareth bale could become our left back in the future bale good defender good attacker and has good crosses and shooting accaruy is good and strong one also and have a very speedy sprint

Engineer said...

Gareth Bale? This isn't Football Manager or FIFA, my friend.

Bale is a long, long way of being even remotely close to ready for a challenge this big.

He's struggling in Tottenham!

R10FCB said...

statistics show that bale has never won a premier league match in which he has started.
