Catalan sports paper Sport claims a deal has been struck with Inter Milan for the transfer of Inter striker and Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic (27).
The agreement would have included 40 million euro plus the transfer of Barcelona striker and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (28) as well as a 1 year loan of Barcelona midfielder and Belarusian international Aliaksandr Hleb (28) to Inter.
The deal would have been agreed to in the early morning hours of Friday, July 17th.
Samuel Eto'o would have given his consent after being contacted by Barcelona in regards to the deal. Furthermore, Sport claims Ibrahimovic would be willing to lower his wage requirements from 12 million euro per season at Inter to a figure that better meets Barcelona's wage structure so Lionel Messi can remain the club's best paid player.

40 million euro =
56 million us dollar
34 million gb pound
Yikes, I suppose it's the best way to go since it provides a solution for Eto'o aswell.
Let's see what happens!
to me ibra is the perfect striker just without the goals. hes tall, strong, hes not slow, got great skill, powerful shot and great aerial ability. they always say that the serie A is the hardest league to score goals in so lets hope ibra gets the goals in spain with barca.
the deal sounds like the filipe story, villa will find out we signed someone new and be angry at his club. its a shame, villa is a class striker but i guess its good for us, we get ibra aswell as getting rid of eto'o and hleb.
sweet mary mother of jesus,
if the next post says OFFICIAL: Ibrahimovic to Barca, ill shit my pants :D
Isnt Inter in the USA? The report said they met in Milan...
Ibra and Maxwell have always played on the same team and when Maxwell was signed someone on this post predicted this would happen. I wonder if we'll keep Kerrison now or loan if out.....
Yo!!! But we overpaid... We have to hear the rants of Madristas now, they will start bad-mouthing Laporta and barca for overpaying while Laporta was so busy criticizing all summer. But, YEAH WHATEVER :)
Another great player misses out on the boat, only this time it's a well established player & the best striker of spain. A new villain is exposed now in the form of bald-headed Llorente to join the league with the fatty-pig Lendoiro
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
IBRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! hope this is true (and not another goal.com villa-deal-done situation)!!
here's a post on the comment section of el mundo deportivo's story about the negotiations (where people already posted that the deal was done)
"Soy madridista y me acabo de cagar en los pantalones, tengo miedo mucho miedo."
trans. "I am a madradista and I just shit my pants. I am afraid, very afraid."
Hope we get Hernanes now!
And also offload Caceras and Guddy to accommodate Chyhrynskiy and Guardiola would be the happiest man on earth... Come on Txiki, you can do it. Just go for the kill :)
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
@messiiiiiiiiii
You know spanish or u got a technique on how to translate the spanish 'statements' to english on google. Please reply if it's the latter :)
@alexxx666
What to do?!? None even wanted to believe me :)
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
Anyony,
Barca hasn't said anything about Hernanes this summer. What makes you think we would want to get him now. Of course, that would be too good to be true, so I highly doubt that it's an option since he hasn't been linked to Barca since last summer.
Guardiola wanted Robinho last summer and he still wanted him this summer. He wanted Hernanes last summer. there has been some speculation even in the month of march if I remember right.
Hernanes actually started out as a DM like our xavi and Iniesta. Now that we need a decent DM during ACN season, a good back-up for Xavi and his price, as rumored, has fallen... I guess the manager will surely be glad to add him to the squad.
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
Perfect striker.
you cant get better then this for a striker. I think it will be great. I cant wait!!!
If a deal is agreed to it might take a little while for official confirmation. There are some extra hurdles to cross. Both Eto'o and Ibrahimovic have to agree to personal contracts. It's not as straight forward as the Maxwell transfer.
Great player I guess, but WOW did we overpay.
what's the website of SPORTS? Its the website you guys were saying with the football news?
Thanks
as long as all the headers are like this the 40 million would be worth it. I think they going to let us take him for 30-35 million.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLTC8ztUp9M
how we are talkin a great move 4 barca all we need now is lw and cd and we goin 2 kill the world great football.barca4life
@anony
i read spanish okay but don't speak it and it takes longer for me to read spanish than english.
as for this deal it's also an ideal eto'o situation. i didn't want to see him go, but it had to happen, especially after that press conference. just too much negativity. now we can send him to inter--and they are a great club, obviously, but not champions league contenders in the way that the english clubs are, based on history. eto'o will do well there, but i don't see him leading them to the champions league final, unless inter makes another couple of moves. if sammy had gone to manu, i would have been nervous all season, just waiting for him to kill us in the champions league. now a little less so, although that danger is still there.
@James.... I think that i'll be easy cause Ibra wants to play for us so he'll take a pay cut and Eto will get a decent wage cause Inter will have an extra 12million every yr from Ibras wages. What i still wanna know is what about Kerrrison. Anyone know anything.
@Anon I belived you man...lol.
Anony,
I share your opinion on Hernanes. He'd me my first choice to replace Keita and Yaya in the winter due to his lower price tag compared to Mascherano. It would be amazing if we could get him. Then we would be set for next season. We wouldn't need anyone else.
I love how the picture on the fcbarcelona site is of zlatan with maxwell having is back turned.
Keirrison will probably get loaned. or he could also back up Ibra. and Bojan can sub for Henry/Messi..
This transfer will be great. You cant play games with Barca
Look @ Valencia and Deportibo.
Thank You Inter Milan!
@James
Inter already pays around 12 mill for Ibra, so won't back down to Eto'o's demands. Also Ibra was ever ready to take pay-cut to join us :)
But still 40+Eto'o is way too much. I would not be sad if it's 30+Eto'o and a loan of Hleb
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
VISCA EL BARCA, VISCA EL ZLATAN!!! now it's time to sign a midfielder, how much money do we have left?
Just a Hernanes and a Chyhrynskiy, i think we are set for 2 seasons minimum if the Ibracadabra settles in La Liga of course.
I want Keirri to stay and Bojan to blossom this season as a very good winger... Don't need to worry about Bojan though, the King Titi Henry is taking a very good fatherly care of Bojan :)
@Marc4barca
We parted with 60 million, so left with 15-20 + Fringe players to be offloaded
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
Ronaldo+Kaka=Ibrahimovic :)
funny how all the transfers are finally happening since the blog reopened lol
is this hernanes guy any better than joa moutinho cause moutinho seems like the perfect midfielder for barca or i think we could of and should of raided Marseilles lucho gonzales bid cause he is also one hell of a player.
@M10
I think Pep just got pissed for having had to read all the posts of us crying through out the summer... He just took some time off only to return just in time to report all the happenings as they are :)
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
Wow...that is way too much. Hope he is worth it and you guys are right.
im suprised goal.com hasnt mentioned anything yet, the wikipedia article on barca has ibra on the squad while isnt and that hlebs on loan to inter
*while eto isnt
Read this gem of a comment on Marca
"Last minute: Sergio Ramos has been found hanged in his room at the police sources hotel.Segun player left a note signed in the dying that he preferred to be beleaguered and again by Henry"
@ above post on Sergio Ramos
Don't think it's such a gem man! Not funny at all. Why insult Ramos when they have some one like Pepe :P Sorry, but I like Ramos dude. After the gesture of him wearing his expired friend's jersey after Euro final, just can't stop admiring him.
Why is El mundo not yet put up the news? Hope it's true man. Don't want another upset :(
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
a little pricey, but we weren't going to get much for eto'o with how this summer has gone. I'd like Kierreson as his back-up....and one or two more smaller smart transfers and then let the season start already!!!
isn't that way too much?? 40m + eto'o and hleb on loan...woah...that is huge..
i don't trust elmundo and sport so ,i don't think this is true.villa will come, ibra??no.ibra can't score more than 35 in a season.villa??he can for sure.so i prefer villa and after all,he wil fit in perfectly at barca.he wants to come here like ..desperately.he even wants to use his own money, now that is what you cant always find.he loves barca.he'll be better than ibra.
lol the people who dont want ibra wont believe it ^^^^^^
Really hope it goes thru
anybody else staying on the computer the entire time waiting for more news on this and for an announcment for it to be official???
i won't believe it.M10,ibra will not become better than villa.
Yes, M10 - it's 06:00 AM here and I still haven't gone to bed.
Need to see some more information abuot this before I can hit the sack, haha.
@M10, yes. Here is the only thing I found.
http://www.lavanguardia.es/deportes/noticias/20090717/53746410646/etoo-por-ibrahimovic-milan-laporta-zlatan-ibrahimovic-florentino-perez-massimo-moratti-fc-barcelona-.html
If you can't read spanish, basically it says eto'o+hleb+10 million they report no loan
@M10
Yeah there... Count on me dude :)
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
im not saying ibras better, it just sounds like you dont wanna believe the reports just because you like villa better
besides, ibras the kind of player PEP wants
i believe a deals been reached but not a 100 percent signed, i believe this because its just like how it happened with maxwell, so fast
I hope it goes through, though 40M is too much. 25-30M sounds mroe reasonable. Kerrison needs to stay, but Bojan seriously needs to get some playing time and not be sheltered sooo much, which means a loan would be ideal!
wowwwwwwwwww this is the best news i can hear
its who is better than whom its not villa who can score more goals or zlatan
its the thing that zlatan is the type of tall , hold the ball , play the back against the goal , areial threat type of striker which pep guardiola wants
thks trikxi he has been doing the job which our coach and technical staff wants ...!!!
mess quen club
@Je me'appelle Samuel
Man, if it's true then Barca should never part with Txiki... never ever :)May be he signed maxwell just to lure Ibra in the first place. now that would be some master idea :P
10 + Eto'o + Hleb = 45 way too good man.
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
i think barca philosophy in signing someone is to do it sneaky and unexpectantly for they wont cause a media frenzy, so perhaps the board wasnt sleeping at all
barca isnt slow in the transfer market, theyre just sneaky ;)
i don't believe this because it is always like this.
'villa wants to dress azulgrana'the next day, llorente says villa is not for sale
'filipe will be barca's'next thing, out of nowhere, maxwell was signed and filipe was no more
'forlan expected to end up in barca'after about 3 hours, the president says "barca like forlan?then i like messi"
'villa deal done'then the next time you check, villa want to push through
'fabregas wants out' then tommorow morning, fabregas commits to arsenal.
in sport and elmundo, they always give shit.that's why i don't believe this.i like ibra, but he is not better than villa.thats all.but he's still great.
@ tenguku
its not who is better than whom ...we all know both villa and zlatan r great players who can suit to ne team and can lead the attack .... the thing is if our technical staff and coach wants a player of typical attributes(height , heading ,strong ) we will go for him ... regarding villa if lorent doesnt want to sell him then we cant do ne thing other than bying his buyout clause
theres a difference between all that shit, first of all sport is saying hes officially signed, but
theres a bunch of other media saying that there was a meeting about it that was confirmed, plus this is different because its just like how it happened with maxwell, unexpecting and fast
i bet if it was villa instead of ibra in this article then you'd believe it
Anyone wanting to know more about Hernanes this is a must read!! Frankly i didn't know much about him but after reading it i really want Barca to sign him.
http://pitacodogringo.wordpress.com/2008/02/19/is-hernanes-brazils-best-midfielder-since-kaka/
"The deal would have been agreed to in the early morning hours of Friday, July 17th."
i think its morning in barcelona now
Barca should get:
Villa Maxwell Cambiaso.
Cambiaso will be the best back up fo xavi and iniesta.
he is wonderful at 1 shotpasses gamestyle and he will be soo goood at barca
m10,if it was villa,i would still have doubts, because now i know, that i can't trust these rumours because i basically always believed in rumours.
but now,i have doubts because every time i turn my pc on,they say a deal is done and i get all excited about it,the next thing that happens is the rumour was just a rumour.so,if it was villa, then i still won't believe it until....its official.so right now, villa or zlatan, both deals hasn't gone through.
hawk,i don't agree with you because WE (i mean all of us in here) are not professionals like the boardroom members. And what we want,is not always going to be what the board wants. But what the board wants ,is not always going to be successful.if it was what pep wants, then, even then,i still have doubts.BUT,a COACH is always smarter than a BOARD OF RICH PEOPLE.And also, pep wanted Villa.Ibra was also what pep wanted but he instead told txiki to go for Villa. And villa was negotiated longer than what ibra was negotiated over a month ago. So,to me,pep wanted Villa more than he wanted Ibra.
@M10,
The meeting was on the evening of July 16th, and completed after midnight (hence July 17th), that's what the blog post was referring to. According to Sport the deal has been agreed to. There's no indication that there will be confirmation in the morning.
and guys ....all these vids that i found about zlatan.

WATCH ALL.very funny.ALL of them.
Imho pep wanted ibra more.
That was the info from the day one. That he wants that kind of player.
He of course alse wanted villa. And he found that player interesteing but imho ibra was his first choice but barca thought he will be too expensive (as he is;) ).
I still wait for any official info about all this mess..
hey if this is true it would be perfect ... but i feel sad for villa, it happened to filipe luis 1st when we got maxwell instead, now we got Ibrahimovic , but anyhow Ibra is far better than villa :) Visca El Barca
PS: Keirrison ?!
sachy,Villa was also expensive. And Barca knew about about that.
BTW,I DO NOT HATE IBRA,I JUST LIKE VILLA MORE.IBRA IS ALSO GOOD.
Well, Eto'o's attitude sometimes makes Crissy Ron look like a saint. Remember the time when he just walked off the pitch? And when he refused to come on as a sub?
Ibra has attitude, but not nearly as much as etoo.
Also, he scored 25 goals in a league where many of the teams have built up strong defenses.
Eto'o is not better than ibra, face it. And i am happy to see him , if true.
45 + Eto'o is 20 mil too much. I prefer Zlatan over Villa (as a player, but thinking of goals i'm doubting).
If we would 've been able to sell eto'o for, let's say, 15-20 mill, we would have been able to buy villa for 50 en still have 10-15 mill left for other players.
I'm saying this because i believe we need at least one more player (central midfielder whom can play more defensive, loss of touré, and more attacking, if something happens with xavi or iniesta to the left).
Maybe a second for central defense or outside left. (someone like Silva or Ribery could play on the left and attacking midfield)
Iniesta is key here, he can play AM, LW and even DM (remember our previous CL-win, semi's against Milan).
Also curious what they will do with Keirrison(non-eu player and we've got a few of them already). Maybe he can play on the wing to and as a back-up 9.
if i where villa and i knew its last possibility for me to play i such a club like barca and barca offering valncia soo much and valencia want more .
i would call valenca and tell them guys i have 2 more years to play .
and you have 2 options:
1)let me go to barca
2) i retire now and you will lose me (he will have to pay 2-3 mil bac to valencia)
And Again Cambaso wil be perfect for barca .
El Mundo Deportivo confirms :)
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
Nike officialy presented Inter Milan new shirt with for players and Ibrahimovic is not one of them.
[IF THIS WERE TRUE]
with the loss of hleb and eto'o to inter, and with Ibra coming to barca,we have solved the issue of a Striker( with ibra we didnt just soved the issue, we made it a hole lot better !!! ;) )
so we still need 2 midfielders , one attacking and one defensive :D
mido
what do you think about Cambiaso ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TSa8bHwLlQ&feature=fvw
he is the onlyplayer i can see who will be able to sub xavi .
he can play xavi and ini role ad as a DM he is ok too
the chances of signing cambiasso are rather slim since he is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and also considering inter have already sold us two of their players. i think with xabi alonso being the best midfielder on the market now we should sign him or get moutinho, montolivo or hamsik.
goal.com is now following suit. My only question is do any of these papers even have a source? You would think they were sitting at the dinner table the way they report these things.
If we were to believe goal.com, we have already signed Villa and now Ibra :D... Hey a guy can dream right
marc4barca
cambiasso is not only a DM he can play very similar to xavi.
and i guess xavi will need somebody young beside him as he getting older .
so if this deal isnt true buy villa and swap hleb with cambiasso .
inter wanzt hleb...
in Inter Milan website Laporta said that there is nothing official yet. Inter official website has everything about the meeting
o can solve this Question
when you see this goal , what comes to your mind first ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R_iYLca2gc&feature=related
i knew it .i said it yesterday :).better than villa deal.
nobody can screw with barcelona
ej
cambiasso can work perfectly with the barca style but he would never accept a bench role
what we need is a young DM like busquets because he would accept a bench role plus he wouldnt cost a lot and he would serve well for the future...
I recommend CLONING Iniesta LOL :P
mido
he wont be a bench playerhe can sub xavi inista and toure this means :
the 4 players will be all time subing each other .always 3 in 1 out
when you have 6 compitition cambiasso will play so much that he get tired :))
i guess u have a point
but for a DM cambiasso lacks the physical side, sure he can pass and all but he lacks some major physique.
we need someone tall like toure
like essien
even mashcerano wont do the trick.
http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=31718&L=en
Well, hes totaly diffrent to VIlla.
Villa is more of a pure striker I think, score more goals.
Ibra got more tech though and hes taler and stronger.
ibrahimovic is the best striker in the world and he will prove it next year wearing the blaugrana shirt.he is the only player capable to fill eto's shoes(i think villa wouldnt score as much as eto).getting ibrahimovic is the best deal we can get this summer, the guy is amazing
I guess keeping Pep's wish for a tall striker who is proven goalscorer while also taking care of Eto's wish for CL playing club who also can afford to pay his high wages this is the best deal we can expect keeping all concerned happy and satisfied.
I agree that we are paying overboard here but then with Villa deal slipping out due to Valencia's management indecision and obvious greed(while still having to settle Eto's case) we had to close things in time for the pre-season. I think Ibra was Pep's first choice and we have to keep faith in his judgement here.
I am confident Pep can draw the lazy demons out of IbraCadabra and change his work ethics in line with Barca's just as he did with the rest last season.
Glory to Barca...Forever
talk about overpaying...are you kidding me?
Eto'o is probably the better striker out of the 2 and we add 40 freakin mio. and Hleb for a year? wow...
I would have wished we do a swap or the worst case being us giving them Eto'o and Hleb to seal the deal...
its definitely overpaying, no doubt about that. I'm not even sure we are going to be better with the addition of Ibra and the subtraction of Eto'o.
It's a huge price though!
I dont know about the price for Villa but we say we get him for 47 m €..
Minus the price we get from Eto'o wich is around 28-30.
47-30=17 m€ so we loose 17 m€ at that affair. and then if we sell
Zlatan affiar :
Spend 40 € + Eto'o (30€)
Thats already 80 € PLUS hleb!
Thats sick ffs! 80 M€ + hleb.
I rather pay 17€ +Eto'o for Villa
i would still prefer villa over ibra. villa had the potential to knock down fifty and help the players around him. Ibra is great and dont get me wrong definitely and upgrade to a distracting eto'o but how will he do with messi and henry? iniesta and xavi? will he take away from alves messi? i dont think i would of even pondered any of that with villa. hes different something we didnt have before but did we need it that desperately? hopefully he and maxwell give us another messi alves and we can move henry to the eto'o role (where i think he can still do some major damage) and see if ibra can hold down the lw
Only a clown think we could have gotten 30m euros for Eto'o who is unwanted, pissed off, one year left, and wants a huge wage from any club he signs including sign-on-fee.
don't think we overpaid, as i think he's better than cristiano & kaka together ;).
40 million + etoo (who has no prize since nobody wanted to buy him).
ibra seems to be the most complete striker so let's hope this ain't just a rumour
ya the price is high but if u look at the other side
etoo leaves which is eventually good for us after whtever happened he had been great for us so he is getting good pay there , champions league foodball , new challenge seria tittle and work under mourinho
we get zlatan & since valencia wont sell villa he goes out of our list so we get a top striker
hleb also gets his chance for 1st team which seemed imposible for him at barca
our staff and coach is get the player wht they were searshing for
zlatan has his hunger to win the champions league so sne fresh legs
we complete the deal before per season .!!!
If true, it is:
40m euros + Eto'o (15m euros) + loan of Hleb (-4m in wages), total deal is 51m euros.
same story is being reported on tv3's website. being one of barca's top sponsors, IMO they wouldnt post rumors without inside knowledge as to not piss off barca. I think its done. 40M+Etoo(35-40M)+Hleb loan>>>>92M for crynaldo. too much for someone coming to a new league and new environment.
no:
40 mio + 29 mio for eto + 4 mio for loan - 4 mio for wages = 69 mio. euro
29m for Eto'o is funny. We would be lucky to get 15m for him as the situation was.
15m for Etoo? that would also have been a lot.
and im sure if pep can handle etoo, he can handle ibra.
"It is also speculated that ‘Ibracadabra’ will take a pay-cut in order to play for ‘El Tricampeon’ – and also ensure that he does not eclipse Lionel Messi – while Eto’o has allegedly demanded €13m from the San Siro outfit for a period of five years, or €65 million in total."
-Insane. Shows you why it was so difficult to get rid of Eto'o.
We over paid, but Real Madrid overpaid even more for Kaka. I am very excited that we got rid of Eto'o and signed an excellent striker. Welcome Ibracadabra.
You are probably right Anurag. Eto'os demands destroys all other team's wage structure, so nobody basically wanted him. And a pissed off Eto'o for one more year waiting out his contract to go on a free who would not play one single minute for us would have been a disaster for team morale.
guys i have the feeling that etoo will sabotage the whole deal.
he ust want revenge.
wait ad remember what i said !!
he will demand much higher salary
Let's hope this is Bullshit.
It would be a disaster if this was true.
I rather think Ibra will destroy our wage structure. If Ibra leaves, Inter has enough to pay the salaries for Eto'o ànd Hleb.
We won't be able to laugh with madridistas for paying out-of-market prices anymore... :(
Villa would have been a better option. Ibra is another CR7 pre-madona.
Somebody pointed out that only man city were willing to pay 25 million for etoo which meant that his value was below that to other clubs. Assuming he was worth 15 mill + 35-40 depending on who you listen too and hleb on loan (Inter will have to pay us to keep him after this season) I'd say we spend about 40-45 mill in total on this deal. Great deal if you ask me.
Eto was good, but his attitude off the pitch is poor and the amount of money he requires is ridiculous.
I actually prefer Ibra to Villa, Ajax r my 2nd favourite team and I always liked him. I think Pep can bring out the best in him and he can be as Mourniho and others pointed out the greatest player on the planet.
please stop putting prize-tags on etoo, as no one made a bid for him for the money most here are speculating about.
fact is, that ibra is the best, most compact and most complete striker of the world, as everybody knows, even experts saying it.
please also don't start speculating about dressing-room-nonsens, as nobody here was never, ever in it, with ibra or anyone else of the barca-or-inter-squad.
fact two is, that no inter-player ever talked negative bout ibra, as it's always coming from people from the outside.
to get ibra would be a dream and everybody would realize that, see him together with messi, xavi, iniesta, henry, etc breaking opponent defences to pieces and making opponent strikers jobless for 90 minutes...that's the truth!!!!!
those who think that ibra is no teamplayer, must be ac milan fan or fan of an other club disliking inter.
ibra is the s*** in the most positive way.
dynamic, powerful, technically, compact and blessed with a powerful shot, that will more often find the target than etoo's or villa's.
thinking about him playing in spain, where there's more space than in italy's world of catanaccio, gives me, enough confidence and faith to say that this money is worth.
so i hope that this isn't just a rumour, as also this written words here would be worthless too
My concern is that ibra misses some easier goals. But i guess the case could be made etoo did the same at points last season.
Ibra vs. Eto'o (not talking about the price or contract her)
Eto'o has been at Barca for a long time, and, since he's not a youthplayer it's common sense that the magic would stop one day, he has won everything twice here.
Zlatan is technically definitely the better. Eto'o is a bit faster. The goal eto'o makes against Bayern: starting, a few fast meters and a fast shot. Those goals we'll see less with Ibra. Ibra on the other hand could be even better in the combination with messi/iniesta/xavi. They both have their selfish moments, but what i have seen from eto'o at the end of last season we won't see from Zlatan: ok, everything was settled, but just no fun for your teammates if you shoot every damn time. Not Barca-style either.
Zlatan is more multifunctional: dribble, counterattack, back-towards-goal, free kick(some nice ones), header...
But i will miss Eto'o's smile, typical of our game, hope that Ibra will be positive.
(if he comes, on EMD Inter denies)
Free kick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9POhbsZr3s
barca4life but he can create chances for himself out of thin air, and in leagues where defending is the absolute priority, and keep in mind that he was by far the biggest threat of Inter, so the other teams priority was to mark him, and yet he was able to end the season with 25 goals. now imagine this beast playing with a team which will offer him at least 2 one on ones, and a team where the opponent defense is shattered across the field trying to mark Messi, Iniesta, Henry and company.. imagine those pin point Alves crosses in the area followed by Ibrahimovic and Keita.. for the first time in long periods we have a genuine aerial threat in the area.
since there is no new News about the whole deal i guess there is 2 possibilties:
1) there is agreement but eto is not answering the phone to negotiate with inter
2) the whole story is only bullshit and morati and laporta/txiki met in italy only to eat some spaghetti and speak about Hleb.
ej
Morati confirmed the talks and said if Ibra wants it he will go.
but you ar epartly right though, Eto'o signature is the only thing missing.
we are close to getting Ibracadabra people.
again i am sure etoo will manage to sabotage this deal.
so dont be very happy .
as i know etoo is not even answering the phone last days
the reports are that Eto'o has agreed to move to Inter, but studying the contract, but Inter and Barcelona have said that the deal is almost done. Eto'o is not stupid, this is a great chance to get his pay higher while playing with a CL contender, and he knows that Barcelona are serious about getting a replacement, will he waste this opportunity to get all what he wants just to get revenge ? he will be demolished next season by sitting on the bench and no club would be willing to spend on a 30 years old striker that hasn't played for a year, I bet even the Cameroon national side would think twice before deciding on playing him.
everything is set for the success of this mega deal, what an addition Ibra will be to us, and the great news is that he agreed to cut his salary to be less than Messi which shows the same determination to join us as of Villa. I hope we can get Villa too haha.
Would anyone even consider Robben?
Probably not too expensive, and is the only one that hurt us last year: at the Bernabeu & with his goals and actions in the competition.
Before the went to Madril, i thought of him as an excellent player... Stupid Robben-signing-for-madrid..
Ok lets clear a few things..
Firstly the ones who are saying that we are paying over the top for Ibra...Etoo has one year left on his contract, is unhappy and pissed off, apart from Man Citys sugar daddys loose change no one else is prepared to pay anything near 20mil, on top of Etoo we are rumoured to pay 40mil plus Helb for whom Inter will have to pay us a fee othwersise it would not be a loan deal...so all in all its not that bad. Secondly it is a MUST that we freshen things up and get rid of Eto'o like we did Ronaldinho and Deco (look what that brought us) because we cannot expect any commitment from him next season, we need new hungry faces who will fight to win the trophies we cannot make the same mistakes after season 2005-06. Maxwell will bring a new dimension with his techniques and pace at LB, Abidal was very lucky to get away with school boy errors last season (a couple against Madrid at the Bernabeu). We need Hernanes in midfield, he is class, composed, skillfull the lot and would cost about 8-10 mil, he started as a defensive midfielder but has been playing as an attacking one so he could cover Xavi, Iniesta and also Toure when he is away on African Nations Cup duty, don't forget we are getting Marquez back too. We cannot rely on Milito as an option because he is still injured and might not even be up to playing standard when he does return so a new CB is also important. Then we are left with signing someone for the wings, and for some reason I have a feeling we have the money somewhere and the determination to sign Ribery and that it could happen...while Madrid did all their signings at the start, we do great deals at the end and including the one they wanted most...I believe because of the way Madrid went about their business Byern will not sell to them regardless of the offer and infact just to upset them they might sell him to us providing that Ribery is not further brain washed by that bold headed over rated god knows what Zidane.
@anon
yes i think robben is good but many are against him because he played in rm (i dont have this problems)
i will be happy with robben + huntelar deal i gues we can get both of them for 40-45 M
and they willmake our attack full
robben , huntelaar , henry , bojan , messi
wthis will be mopre than enough.
Anonymous do u think madrid will accept Robben coming to there greatest rival in history.
I think they are willing to take any money they can, because if we sign Ibra, they'll be scared and do anything they can to sign xabi Alonso (or another CM)..
To be honest, it hurts as a blaugrana, but Robben is the only winger that could maybe reacht the heels of Messi. Ronaldo, we have to be honest, isn't bad either.. but he's just fast, powerfull and has some tricks. But isn't a real winger..Robben is a real one IMO. Loved him at PSV, loved him a bit less at Chelsea (fought some battles with Barca in that period), and yeah, when he went tot Real..
BTW, although i think Robben isn't that eager to think about moving to FCB, but if the only option is Tottenham.. Anyways, i see him moving tot Man U. (they need fresh wingers and can afford him + he would be willing to go there)
I know it's not realistic but Robben is better than Robinho, better than silva & Ribery(as a pure winger), but those last two are pure footballers.
Regardless of the Eto'o Vs Villa Vs Ibra discussion, the price (if true) is actually cheap.
- What was the highest offer we recieved for Eto’o? And whats his market Value as a player with an expiring contract? (Market Value, not Barcelona demanded price thats subject to negociation).
- If Hleb for loan, then isnt it true that his selling return next season reduce Ibra price?
If this news is true (If and If then If), the price of Ibra in my very humble mathmatics goes like that:
Cash money + Eto’o market Value - Hleb sales return.
I even see it too good to be true honestly.
again ! etoo is a minus worth since noone want him , rijkard and pep didnt want hium neither AND he attacks in public the club so his value is -7,5 M Euro
its 40 mil - 7.5 Mil + Hleb 1 year Loan
i say 1 year loan for hleb is 3-4 M since he didnt play last season and if he goes to enter he will play and barca will be able to sell him later for much more than if he stay now
so at end its is :
40 M - 7.5 + 4 = -->36.5<--
I don't agree with the Hleb sales return.. we paid a lot for him last year, so everything we get, we need to keep in mind that sum. If subtract his sale from the 45, what is the value of Hleb then?
Cash money + eto'o market value is the price.
In loans we get some more freedom, but that budget should (if it is good management) not be to reliable on sales&buys.
I believe that 45+ eto'o is a bit too much, i would have preferred eto+25/30 or eto'o + Hleb(transfer) + maybe 10.
If you look at the talent alone, we have done bad: it's our own(barca being the board, management and eto'o) fault.. Eto'o is worth a bit less than Zlatan IMO, but okay.. His contraxt expires and he wants to go.
Analysis(correct me if i'm wrong) :
As of now Barca didn't confirm that they have signed Maxwell, they only mentioned negotiations are undergoing. Even Moratti confirmed the same saying Laporta has been here to discuss the deals for Maxwell & Hleb transfers and Laporta also discussed on Ibra & Eto'o. So, maxwell isn't signed yet.
IMO 40+Eto'o+Hleb(on loan) that sport is quoting might be for Ibra+Maxwell. Sounds decent as we are offloading two players who are no more in our plans and are getting a good LB and a great striker :)
Only 2 scenarios are possible now. 1) Getting Maxwell and Ibra
2) Getting Felipe and Villa
1) 40+Eto'o+Hleb. Considering Hleb had been a definite starter for one of the top clubs in Europe till very recent. He would definitely like to prove he's no shit. The fact that we have World cup next summer only adds to that. If he really is able to get back to his previous form Inter might buy him permanently and I'm sure barca would agree to that only if the transfer fee would be around 10 million. So Ibra+Maxwell come approximately for 30+Eto'o which is like 55 million if Eto'o is valued 25. Sounds like a nice move for me. And if Hleb fails miserably again like he did this year the nthe deal costs us 40+Eto'o and we will be getting our Hleb back who would be worth just around 5million by then. So it's almost like 35+Eto'o = Ibra + maxwell... still fair enough for me :)
2) I'm sure if the above deal is off we would be getting Filipe and Villa. Villa gonna be 45 million. Filipe say 12. And we need to pay Eto'o his wages for next year which would be like 7.5 million and that too Eto'o would be confined to the bench since we are surely gonna buy Villa. So that costs us around 45+12+7.5 = 65 approx.
So in first case the deal gonna cost 55million(if Hleb shines) or 60million(if Hleb fails) for a LB and a striker. In the second case it's gonna cost us 65million. But the added advantage of the second deal is we are getting a nice talent in the form of Filipe and we are still able to keep Hleb.
I would rather the first choice because it's obvious Ibra is definitely ahead of Eto'o technically and Hleb just a fringe player in our squad. Even if it fails I'll be very happy we are getting Filipe. I'm more looking forward to filipe than Villa in case deal of Ibra fails :)
Josep "Pep" Guardiola i Sala - We are strikers who defend, we are defenders who attack, we are speed, we are strength, we are effort, we are precision, we are as one... We are Barça
Interesting to c Mourinho working with Eto.
my god we have done a madrid deal, over-paying for a prima donna!!
if this is true i really he proves me wrong as we are very close to being the laughing stock of the football community. ibra seems to be very highly rated among many here but that opinion isn't universal. no-one can seriously think this is a good deal? yes sorting etoo out in this way is ideal, but paying an extra 40mil is crazy. what makes ibra so great? what has he won? 2 scudettos at a time when serie a is possibly at an all time low. compare him to other teams in CL, nothing.
for once i am not supporting txiki with this deal as we have been raped, if it goes through.
pep is gonna have his hands full and i only hope he scores 40+ goals next season without turning us into a one trick pony, cross, head, goal, very dull. come on villa.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already but I think a major factor of trying to sign Ibra the zebra is his size, heading ability and strength . Barça need a striker who can help break the " EPL BUS " . Manchester United , Chelsea and Liverpool all have parked the bus against us in the past and they WILL do it in the future . Having Ibrahimovic as a battering ram with technical skills can go a long way to break the damn bus !!
SJP
paying 38 M for Ibra is not too much !!!
Everybody must calm down and wait to see what the final price is before attacking eachother! Patience!
While Ibra is a great signing I think he is not worth Eto + 40MM Euros + Hleb for a one year loan. It seems to me that Barca always pays top euro for players while accepting lower than market value when selling players. Eto is a proven goal scorer and has won 2 CL trophies with Barca. How is Ibra worth 40M Euro more than Eto?
i feel like the site needs a post on player valuation, because as it stands, there are two BIG reasons why zlatan is costing so much that are perfectly legitimate:
1. Contract years remaining. Eto'o isn't worth much to most teams because there's only one year on his contract. Barca has next to no actual bargaining position in regards to eto'o...he can hold them hostage in terms of the negotiations (and more right to him to do that, btw). So eto'o's only worth it for a team that believes they can re-sign him to a longer contract. Zlatan's got a longer contract.
2. WAGES. the undiscussed part of a transfer is how much the player is making. In short, eto'o wants to get his final large pay day. Zlatan's already got his huge pay day and will take a pay cut.
So, in short, if eto'o's "value" on the market is 15 mil (to be conservative), over the next three years, he'll also cost an extra 6 mil compared to zlatan if the wage demands we're hearing about are true (let alone any bonus inter/barca might have to pay to convince him to take the deal). that makes him actually only "worth" 9 mil to inter because of the wage cost differential.
further:
3. loan wages--will inter pay for Hleb's wages or will barca? would they split it?
4. merchandising options. Who is going to make more money in shirt sales? Ibra --> barca's going to sell a lot more shirts than eto'o --> inter, I think.
5. the future value of Hleb. Barca still owns his rights. So if they decide to sell him in a year, he might (almost assuredly) have a better year at milan than at barca (as he's back-up for us, but a possible starter for them) and then barca can get more money for him. So that's an investment in re-couping losses as well.
in short, while 40 + eto'o +hleb loan sounds high, depending on the wage structures and bonuses and lengths of contracts, it might not be. certainly 30 mil would be better, but 40 isn't that extravagent...especially in this market, and especially if villa costs 50.
to make this an even longer post (sorry)! think about villa...if barca signs villa, eto'o's value would only plummet. talk about selling cheap...
bout robben...madrid or not, for me, he's not even worth to think about him. egoistic, injury-prone, a diver and not a good teamplayer. he has some good dribbling-skills, but for me, he's crap and is no one who brings a team forward like robinho the baby-toy-boy
hello fellow cules i have said in the past we are all working hard at the club to get the player in for pep, firstly let me shed some true light on the felipe situation:
it was a very complicated issue with intense talks, the player so much wanted to come he even showed txiki photos of him dressed in a barca shirt aged 13 and other barca paraphenalia, but here my fellow cules was the problem, lendoiro knew the desires of the player and did all in his power to disrupt a deal being concluded we did have a deal reached with lendoiro for €10m euro an the loan of victor sanchez and victor espasandin the deal was close to being finalized with deportivo when we then received via fax from lendoiro that the club instead wanted €17.2m euros aswell as sanchez and espasandin permanently we then countered the offer to €13.5 and a two year loan of both players again lendoiro accepted after he spoke with the player promising him both clubs have reached an accord, we then started to talk to the agents of luis and the player when again we received a phone call from lendoiro who said the deals off an the club want the players €20m euro buy out clause!! we tried to negotiate we went as high as €11.5+€6.5m variables, lendoiro again accepted and we began drawing up the necessary paper work and contacting the players entourage, then at 8am wednesday morning lendoiro contacted us again calling off the deal and demanding €20m euro outright for the player,we had the misfortune of informing the player that we will be ending our interest the player was deeply upset with depor and thanked the club for trying so hard, we promised felipe that in future we will contact him and depor to conclude his purchase but that the club weren't going to be mucked around in negotiations and that we were making a stand thankfully a distraught and upset luis understood our position!.
the situation of maxwell:
to update fans we have been scouting several left backs i can assure you all ever since we knew from january last season that the contract of silvinho would not be renewed, we scouted some 12 players for that position, we noticed that maxwell would be the ideal candidate if felipe didnt come hes quick, has great crossing ability, quick feet, good dribbling too and is solid defensively, we contacted moratti and registered our interest and inter were very professional and laid down a price which they would accept at first they wanted €8m euro but we worked a deal for €3.5m+€0.5m variable, moratti then wanted to talk about hleb an eto'o and then mentioned a possible cash plus players swap for ibrahimovic, i can assure fans the figure is not €40m euro we are looking to offer €25m+eto'o+hleb both players being transferred permanently i will try to keep all updated.
David Villa:
what about david villa?!
if this is true i feel so sorry for felipe, to repeatedly think he was on his way to then be knocked back again and again, poor bloke.
also, if reliable is there any news on a CM or LW?
@ Insideknowledge
Is it true that Barca didn't contact Eto'o regarding the deal in the first place? The shitty goal.com put up an article saying Eto'o's agent said so and that Barca has no right to include him in any kind of deal without his consent and that he's angered as Barca took such a step. I'm afraid he might again prove to be a spoilsport :(
Samuel Eto'o, if that article is true, is losing all the respect & good will that he had in the hearts of FC Barcelona fans :(
I am shocked we almost got taken to the cleaners by Lendoiro's tactics. We should never have offered those sums 11.5 + 6.5 for Filipe after Lendoiro's lies and hardball tactics. I am delighted that the deal didn't happen and that Lendoiro now is the fool who just lost alot of money and created an unhappy player. Feel sorry for Filipe of course, but next time, we can not accept such bullshit tactics from anyone.
i can assure all that we talked with samu and his agent and we all made it clear that we would look to sort samu's situation asap and the player agreed to this and when we mentioned clubs such as inter etc samu agreed this would be a good move etc we are confident that samu and his agent will not cause any disruptions as regards the comment supposedly from his agent i can assure all that this is false as all parties have agreed to close any public statements etc, samu realises the situation and like us wants the case resolved we are constantly informing the player who is in miami we allowed his holiday to be extented there knowing inter were in the states we hope to conclude this deal as soon as possible..
regards david villa:
we tried as hard as we have ever had to obtain his services the player offered to pay €8m euro to make it €50m valencia wanted after this gesture which was soo warmly welcomed vakencia informed us they wanted his €100m euro buy clause or no deal was possible in other words valencia are hell bent on not allowing a sale, at this moment the case for villa is closed as you simply cannot negotiate with a club which is simply not interested in doing a deal!!,
as regards lw/midfield options we are looking at a number of players i call on all to have patience we have worked hard to identify our targets and will do what is necessary in due course.
to update all on keirrison it is expected he will sign soon within the next week or so we hope to have him join us maybe for the london tour but we will see we are in no rush to conclude this deal we have a few minor issues to resolve!
@insideknowledge
sounds great & BTW thanks a lot for the instant response
Please don't leave us, inside!
Could you tell us what these "minor issues" with Keirrison is? And is the point of the transfer to loan him out or keep him as striker backup?
any knews on other transfers:
- centreback?
- caceres-poulsen is true?
- targetting any midfielders?
- Are we still searching for a left-wing or is Iniesta/Keirrison the back-up for this year?
@insideknowledge...Hey you misspelled your name. It's InsiderKnowledge. If you want to be taken seriously I need to see some credentials otherwise just another douche on the internet
hello cules sorry for the mispellings: to je m'appelle all i can say is i am in volved within the directors of the club but i cannot reveal my identity as you all would know it would compromise my position, i can clarify regards keirrison we are not sure yet how he features one thing which is certain is he will sign and will become a barca player we just havent decided to de a henrique type deal where we sign him an immediately loan him or sign him allow him to do pre season with us then evaluate what would be the best course of action to take..
regards other signings for the time being we are closing maxwell and working hard to acquire ibrahimovic if both those deals close quickly thats 2 positions which needed covering we will then turn our attentions to the other positions pep wants closed, we aim to have the squad fully closed a week before the gamper match.
@Je me'appelle Samuel
The way he explained how much of a 'douche' that lendoiro guy is, it's quite believable :)
sounds like a conversation between Anonymous and InsideKNowledge. I think they are the same douche
Wow this is a really bad deal for Barcelona. I'm swedish but I still would not want Barcelona to buy Ibrahimovic. They are getting rid of a player who is working much harder on the pitch then Ibrahimovic has ever done. Eto'o does not just score a lot of goals but he helps out with defensive work as well. The only time Ibrahimovic is helping out in defense is on corners while Eto'o works hard all over the pitch. When Ibrahimovic doesn't get the ball exactly as he wants it then most of the times he just stands around waving his arms and complains. Sure he is a more technical player but that is all his got on Eto'o. Well maybe Barcelona thinks they can change Ibrahimovic style of play and adapt it to the way Barcelona wants to play but I'm pretty sure they will not succeed. I really hope I'm wrong but....
hey insideknowledge if you are involved with the directors of the club can you tell them not to go for poulsen and try signing players like hernanes, joao moutinho and miguel veloso?
Everything he has said here is believable, in fact, very believable. I am glad that we are not rushing the 40m+Eto'o deal, 25m+Eto'o+Hleb sounds more plausible.
I would really have liked to know why we didn't sign Lucio for free if we are after a central defender. He is great with the ball, tall and strong, and has a couple of years left in him. What did we have to lose buy signing that guy instead of dishing out huge money for Bruno Alves?
The only prob i see with ibra is that i can't see him putting pressure on defender when barca don't have the ball, something etoo did do. Still think we need a another attacker to compete with henry. or can ibra play in that position?
i can assure all i am genuine many bloggers on this site have had reliable information from myself before and know who iam remember i am the guy who said sandrusco will use cesc as his golden ticket in the elections next season and i was proved right when a few days later this became knowledge to all cules, i can also tell you sandrusco wants to bring el kun also to barca next season sandrusco is a very powerful negotiator and has alot of influence within nike he will get the best deals for barca i see him like a perez of barca but without the financial insanity!!, this board are all united and i can confirm like always that sandrusco and joan have been in talks for some time regarding players as this current board widely believes sandrusco is likely to become the new president as of next season!!, @samuel i do not need to justify who iam, im a cule and a brother of everyone on here bonded by the blaugrana blood flowing through our veins, i trust in you as a cule that you will take me seriously as im trying my hardest 2 relay some info 2 all cules.
ibra deal:
this is very complex the player has shown a desire to come and succeed and he wants to start a new chapter in his career, we are talking with mino (his agent) and we may have a deal sorted by monday i can confirm that eto'os entourage are in negotiations with inter. on this subject i feel i must not disclose anymore information as its at a very sensitive stage!
on lucio:
we tried to acquire the player but inter then registered there interest we agreed to allow inter to close the sale they paid €11m euro although they have not officially confirmed it we had a deal to allow inter to acquire the player in order to set up the deal with ibra, yes lucio did tick the criteria of a centre back we needed but at 31 and costing €11m euro we thought it not the best investement as we have defenders of a similar age, we have full confidence in henrique although we may yet still bring another cb to the club this option is not closed, pep discussed with txiki about using yaya as a centre back more often which could cover the centre back options if needed.
caceres/poulsen swap:
on this subject i can only say that no permanent sale will be made, although both clubs are looking at season long loan swaps as pep wants another DM, and juve want a CB if a deal is struck it will see both players move on loan for a season with no option to purchase, we have faith in caceres but we feel he needs to grow in confidence and in a league like italy he will become far more better defensively.
hernanes:
its an option we are exploring the €10m euro fee reportedly wanted is just for the brazilian market if any club thats not from brazil i.e say us wants the player sao paulo keeps referring to the €25m euro buy out clause, we are looking at the deal we have some of our people in brazil talkin to keirrison and also about palmeiras possibly becoming the gamper opponents!.
finances:
overall we are looking the healthiest ever our turnover far exceeds over expenditure, infact we have new lines of credit available if and when we need it we have been approached by several european banks offering new credit lines with credit ranging from €60-350m euros but we feel this is not pur model and as we will be totally debt free by the start of november we all feel this would be a bad move, but the credit is there available for the new president if they so wish to use it.
Thanks alot for the insideknowledge. I am delighted to see that we are not swapping Poulsen/Caceres. I also hope that we make Zlatan put some pressure on Inter as Zlatan clearly favors going to Barcelona instead of staying with defensiveminded Mourinho in a Serie A that has lost alot of it former glory.
Hey @insideknowledge thank you so much for keeping cules like us updated. Please ignore trolls and let real cules listen to you. Keep it up.
thank you insiderknowledge will u write here tomorrow.
