Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona Atletic attacking midfielder and Mexican youth international Jonathan dos Santos (19) has obtained the Spanish nationality.
Jonathan, who will start the pre-season with the first team today, swore allegiance to the Spanish constitution together with his father and will that way be available for the first team next season.

Yes!!!
Love to see another fellow mexicano in the first team.
he looks tall.. taller than Gio. is he taller??
and where is his position, it says AM, but maybe he can play CM.
and hope he is more grounded than his older brother ;)
i think he learned from his brothers mistake and will keep his head down
he is a copy of Gio
He's not at all a copy of Gio. On the pitch, I mean. But aybe you were atalking about his looks or his off-the-pitch attitude?
Gio is more versatile, had more depth, more movement, more scoring. Jonathan is really some kind of old-style playmaker. Technically excellent, but he'll have to get quicker footwork if he wants to end up at the first team.
i meant his looks
Great, he was supposed to have been better than gio and if he is more humble too even better.
gio is better than him but he is promising.
p.s.giovinco is more promising than any other soccer player besides messi.
Italian fans love to hype up Giovinco. He's certainly good, but I'm not sure about 'most promising'. He's older than Messi, he'll turn 23 by January. I'm not sure he should be called 'promising' anymore.
nice to see jonathan in the pre season in london, hope giovanni will play agiast us so the it will be the battle of brothers.
He may play vs. his brother
Is Gio still rotting in Ipswich?? Jonathan may look like Gio but I believe he's the smarter one of the two
gio scored a great goal against haiti in the quarter finals of the gold cup this weekend. hopefully somebody takes notice and rescues his dumb ass. maybe rijkaard @ galatasaray? i would think that gio's performance in the dutchman's last match @ the blaugrana's helm left a lasting impression on him. it did on me.
sure he (and his agent) blew his chance @ being a great but the guy is only 18-19 yrs old. hopefully he'll bounce back.
